PROCESS ENGINEERING PRACTICAL LAB SESSION 4
French

21h

Illustrate and complement the introduction to process engineering course, given in GRC1, ITT, MF1, and OUTM.

The experiments are carried out on industrial pilot style units.

  • Measurement of flows (use of flow meters, Venturi tube, differential pressure system)
  • Pressure drop (piping, pecularity)
  • heat exchanger (tubular, plates)
  • Fractional distillation in packed bed column (use of the Mac Cabe & Thiele method)
  • Liquid-liquid extraction (packed bed column, pulse influence)
  • Continuous stirred-tank reactor (saponification in batch or continuous reactor)

NB : This list might be changed, depending on the availibility of the equipement

1 written report for each theme illustrated by a practical course session ; the average of the 6 evaluations gives the grade of the EC.

Protocols given to the students (electronic version available)

Manufacturer brochures.
