Acquire bases in the field of radioactivity and nuclear chemistry.

 

Structure of the mater, the atomic nucleus, the nuclear models and the stability, the diagram of Segré, equivalence mass-energy, Aston’s curve, equation of Bethe and Weiszäcker, spontaneous nuclear transformations (alpha, beta, gamma, neutron, fission), radioactivity, period, energy and kinetics of the desintegrations, the radio-nuclide natures and filiations, parabolae of stability, transmutation, fission and chain reaction, artificial radio-nuclides, thermonuclear fusion, nucleosynthesis, radiation exposure, biological effects of radiations. Exercises on all these themes.

1 written examination (3 hours) at the end of the semester.
